a surprise
Dear Friends,
Yes, a surprise :)
For some time now I’ve been lost in my thoughts and now felt a need for change and get back on the path.
About a year ago my kind brother offered to make a new lay out for this little space of mine… Yesterday we finally sat down to finish everything. I’m so happy that now I can share some of my favourite blogs and melodies easily. And what a good time we...

A Gift
When I started to photograph two years ago I felt a need to capture the good moments in life, small ones, and share them. I wanted to remind myself and others about the things that makes one laugh and love. Back then I was suddenly forced to slow down to take time to think about what really was important in living in this world.
Tomorrow I’m travelling to the place where the photographing...

Mothers Day and Planting Things
Sunday was a Mothers Day here in Finland.
We greated it with a sunny sky and bike rides. Me and my brother suprised Mum with two presents. When I cyckled through a forest I saw some boys gathering wood anemones for their mothers. What a sweet day it was!
Saturday was a Planting Herbs Day.
Two beautiful friends came for a visit bringging happiness and pots with them. I had planned on planting...
Hello May My Friend
This morning I heard good good news and suddenly gloomy day had turned into a blossoming spring.
It’s funny how couple of words can turn the day upside down. Like little bit of sunshine can turn a forrest into a garden. The rhyme of the day can change and ones feet start to dance. Buds of flowers burst open. It takes a little pain but it is so worth it.
Month of May is here and...

The New Artisans
I seem to have always a book of the week or month that I’m constantly talking about to my friends and family. This time I’m going to share it with You too, it’s just way too captivating to be kept as a secret!
I’ll first read text on the back cover for you…
The New Artisans
Profiling over seventy artisans who use craft techniques to create stylish, whimsical,...
By the window to the woods where the deer and creatures play.
There is a girl -a dreamer of dreams with a sore heart.
She lives there among her books and tea and a measure of heartbreak.
Loving illustration, pretty things and falling asleep far, far into the night.
Safe & Sound →
This song is my most recent discovery that I couldn’t just keep to myself.
(Somehow I usually find melodies to be more of an inspiration for paintings than visual things… I haven’t figured out why that is but this time it was the combination of music and misty moorlands that caught my attention. I hope it moves you too!)

Photo inspiration
On weekend I printed some of my tumblr favourites in black and white to get some inspiration for drawings and sketches -my printer is not too fancy so the quality is not the best.
But new ideas were arisen in my mind on that brief moment when arrangeing them on my wall. I seem to glance that way all the time. Thank you to a Friend who inspired me to make a collage. It was FUN :)
Now I need to...

The Core of Nature
One wintery evening I had a square box waiting for me. Specimen earrings by oh so brilliant Jillian from The Noisy Plume had arrived…
Can’t find the words that could describe their BEAUTY but the following poem by Goethe does it for me.
The Core of Nature
I will wear the sun, Ancient light through these woods, Woods that I walk through alone I will take my rest With all creatures...

On Friday a parcel from a dear friend wrapped me in love and lightness. She seems to always know how to fill me with sparkling joy and gratitude!
On Saturday a little boy laughed so laud and watched my paintings so focused next to me that I could feel my soul dancing. I got to tell about my dream to a beautiful friend and she dreamed along me.
I spent the weekend hiking in the countryside with two of my favourite girls. When we walked on duckboards and followed the tracks of a fox or a rabbit in the snow it was so quiet. Only snow was scrunching under our feet. I felt blessed to sit by the fire with them the cold forest around us. Now that I’ve returned home I still feel fortunate.
During past year I have seen and experienced...

It’s been a baking weekend here, I hope yours has been a good one too…
My words for the previous month would probably be change, wistful and joy.
One Wednesday I was looking through rental appartments when my eyes stumbled upon a small attic appartment. On next Friday I got a phonecall and heard it was going to be my new home from the 1st of November.
Everything happened so fast that I haven’t yet realized that when glancing out of the window the view is...
